Quickguide for Epi-Care mobile
1. Unpacking
When you open the package, you will find the sensor, the smartphone, and the necessary chargers. An instruction manual is also included, which you should read and follow.
2. Charging
Before use, both the sensor and the smartphone must be charged.
3. Insert SIM Card
Insert the SIM card on the left side of the phone. If you are unsure how to open the SIM tray, you can find guidance in the phone’s instruction manual.
Important: Always use a SIM card without a PIN code.
4. Fasten the Sensor to the Arm
Place the sensor on your arm using the supplied strap. Adjust it so that it sits comfortably, yet firmly. Choose the arm you use the least – for example, if you are right-handed, the left arm is recommended.
5. Connect the Sensor and Epi-Care mobile
When you switch on the phone, Epi-Care mobile will automatically connect to the sensor.
6. Setting up Alarm Numbers
Switch on the smartphone. The Epi-Care mobile app will open automatically. Tap on “Alarmering”. Enter the telephone numbers that should receive alarms in case of a seizure. You can enter one alarm number and one backup number. Check that the numbers have been entered correctly.
Remember: When the setup is complete, you must save your changes.
7. Testing the Alarm
When the system is set up, the alarm must be tested. Take the sensor and shake it with small, quick movements for at least 15 seconds. Continue until the alarm is triggered. Check that Epi-Care mobile sends both messages and calls as expected.
8. Receiving the Alarm
When you have activated an alarm, Epi-Care mobile will call the alarm number. You receive the alarm by answering the call and then hanging up again. Epi-Care mobile always sends the alarm twice, and you will also receive an SMS.
9. Completion
When you have gone through all the steps, Epi-Care mobile is ready for use. Please read the instruction manual if you want to learn about all the functions the system offers.
